Your intern year establishes core clinical and surgical foundations across inpatient and outpatient women's health. You will develop hands-on competency in prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, while performing uncomplicated vaginal deliveries, primary Cesarean sections, and introductory gynecologic procedures including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Through dedicated training in ultrasound and routine ambulatory care, you will gain the fundamental skills and procedural confidence needed to thrive in senior residency.
PGY-1 Rotations
Second year builds on your core foundations, expanding your scope to high-risk antepartum care, complicated deliveries, and repeat or emergent Cesarean sections. You will advance your surgical skills through uncomplicated major and minor gynecologic operations, deeper ultrasound training, and comprehensive family planning services. Focused rotations in gynecologic oncology and maternal fetal medicine introduce essential subspecialty expertise to round out your clinical breadth.
PGY-2 Rotations
Third year advances your clinical autonomy, focusing on high-risk antepartum management, complex obstetrical procedures, and refined ultrasound expertise. You will elevate your operative abilities through advanced gynecologic cases, minimally invasive approaches, and hands-on urogynecology testing and procedures.
PGY-3 Rotations
As a chief resident, you will step into full clinical leadership, directing all aspects of patient care with faculty guidance while mastering advanced gynecologic surgery and complex obstetrical deliveries. You will serve as a primary mentor and educator, supervising junior residents and medical students in both the operating room and on the labor floor. This culminating year ensures you graduate fully confident and prepared for independent practice or fellowship training.
