Pharmacy Residency

Welcome to Kern Medical’s Pharmacy Residency Program. Thank you for your interest in our residency programs. Our PGY-1 residency program was established in 2005 and has been ASHP-accredited since 2006, recently being awarded the maximum accreditation period of eight years. With our long history of excellence in ambulatory care with pharmacist-managed chronic disease state clinics, we are excited to announce our new PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program. This program is in candidate accreditation status and welcomed its first resident in July 2023.

We pride ourselves in providing a unique and innovative pharmaceutical care program in which all our pharmacists participate. Patients are our primary focus and we strive to establish an excellent pharmacist-patient relationship with them. You will find all our pharmacists committed to providing excellent patient care and are driven to improve health outcomes.

For the resident, we offer an opportunity to participate in an active pharmacy practice in several clinical and administrative settings, including our expansive ambulatory care clinics located in various settings. Our medical teaching environment allows residents to develop strong teaching skills. Our capable staff is an excellent resource for assisting the resident in developing a solid foundation in research design and analysis.

Most of all, members of our staff are committed to supporting the residency program and assisting residents throughout the residency year. It is a year of tremendous learning! Our preceptors are fully committed not only to the clinical growth but also to the well-being of our residents throughout the residency year.

We hope you will consider choosing Kern Medical for your post-graduate pharmacy residency training. We look forward to the opportunity to participate in your development as a clinician.
