As CMO of Kern Medical, Dr. Goldis provides clinical oversight of all department chairs, inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations, case management, overall health care quality, and performance metrics. His expertise ranges from outpatient program development, hospital operations, pharmacy operations, resident education, and Electronic Health Record implementation.

As Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Chief Academic Officer for six accredited residency programs including internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, OB-GYN, psychiatry and pharmacy, he is responsible for ensuring a positive educational experience for the more than 200 medical students that rotate through Kern Medical’s clinical departments. Dr. Goldis also oversees two psychiatry fellowship programs in child and adolescent psychiatry and addiction psychiatry.

He has served as Medical Director in various capacities at Monarch HealthCare, Irvine; Bakersfield Family Medical Center; and Optimal Hospice, Bakersfield. He served in a range of positions at Kaiser Permanente, Bakersfield; and has worked in private and group practices in internal medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine and holds American Heart Association certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). He has been affiliated with hospitals in Kern, Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Dr. Goldis is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hobart College, with a summa cum laude Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. He holds a Masters of Medical Management degree from the USC Marshall School of Business and completed its Executive Development Program.

Dr. Goldis is an avid Star Trek fan, and enjoys recreational swimming and jogging. He completed the Disney World Marathon in 2000, and two half-marathons since then. Dr. Goldis especially enjoys spending time with his grandson Xavier.
