Kern Medical Foundation Receives $5,000 from Bank of the Sierra to assist in the remodel of the pediatric waiting room at our Columbus location.

Providing the best care possible in a welcoming environment is a strategic focus for Kern

Medical. We have spent the past few years updating outdated facilities in both the

inpatient and outpatient setting.

The Pediatric Outpatient Clinic on Columbus serves nearly 1,500 children each month. Of

those patients approximately 120 are critically or chronically ill and require continual treatment. Many of these children have compromised immune systems and are easily susceptible to infections.

With the $5,000 grant received from the Bank of the Sierra, Kern Medical will renovate the existing space, which has only one waiting room for all of the pediatric patients, and create two separate spaces for sick and well kids. The remodel will include new flooring, furniture and artwork that is kid-friendly.  This will ensure that kids with fragile immune systems are not in a small area with kids suffering from contagious diseases.

What: Bank of the Sierra to present Kern Medical Foundation and the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic with a check for $5,000 to assist with the remodel of the chronically ill children’s waiting room

Where: 1111 Columbus Street, Bakersfield, CA 93305

When:  May 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM
