Kern Medical builds giant virtual hospital at Kern County Fair

When:  Monday, September 25th 3:00pm to 8:00pm

Where: Kern County Fair, 1142 P Street

Visuals:  Da Vinci Robot and simulated surgical demonstrations, artifacts from 150 years of Kern Medical patient care and history, car seat safety demonstrations, first aid demonstrations, healthy lifestyle demonstrations and more.

Information: During Marvelous Monday at the Kern County Fair, Kern Medical will transform the center pavilion at the main entrance into a giant virtual hospital.  Admission to the fair on 09/25 will be $5.00 and attendees will be treated to a free tour of the virtual hospital including live demonstrations of:

  • Da Vinci surgical robot and an opportunity to try it themselves!
  • A realistic, full-body adult, patient simulator, SimMan® 3G has advanced clinical functionality to teach critical skills.
  • Vintage surgical equipment and artifacts from Kern Medical’s 150-year history
  • Car seat safety
  • Safe Home, Safe Baby program
  • Healthy lifestyle tools and free samples of infused water and fresh veggies

This is a unique opportunity for members of the community to see the inner workings of a hospital, speak to doctors and residents about their responsibilities, and learn easy and fun ways to lead a healthy lifestyle at home.

This is also a unique opportunity for the media to access hospital equipment and learn procedures.  Your reporters will have the chance to use the Da Vinci surgical robot and the SimMan® giving your viewers at home or readers of your publication a hands-on perspective of life as a doctor or medical resident.
