About Dr. Padhy

Dr. Padhy is an ABPN Board Certified psychiatrist in General Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry.

He received his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree from Berhampur University in India and worked as an Assistant Surgeon. Upon coming to the US, Dr. Padhy worked as a Research Assistant in San Diego (Medical Oncology) and Stanford University (Child Psychiatry) before starting his Residency in Psychiatry. He completed his training in General Psychiatry at USC+LAC program and Fellowship at Stanford University Training program. Dr. Padhy joined the UCLA-Kern Psychiatry Residency Program in July 2006 and has served patients at various clinics and taken leadership positions such as Associate Program Director, General Psychiatry (2011-2015) and currently as Medical Director, Behavioral Health Unit at Kern Medical (2015- present).

Professionally, he is interested in Teaching, System Based Research and Advocacy (for patients and providers). He has special interest in School Consultation and Public Awareness in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum of Disorders. Additionally, he is an active leader in Organized Psychiatry (local, State and National). For his contributions to patient care, community, training program and organized-psychiatry, he has received multiple awards including FAPA (Fellow of American Psychiatric Society) and DFAPA (Distinguished Fellow of APA).

Personally, his mantra is “Humor is the best medicine”. He loves food, enjoys music (plays Indian Drum/Tabla, amateur) and good family time.
