LuLua Mandviwala, MD

About Dr. Mandviwala

Dr. LuLua Mandviwala is a Pediatrics physician at Kern Medical. Prior to working at Kern Medical, she was an outpatient pediatrician at Dr. Rehana Rafiq’s Pediatric Office. There, she would see well and ill newborn to 18 year old children and adolescents. She performed circumcisions, wart cryotherapy, ingrown toenail removal, urine catheterization, splinting and casting, simple laceration repair, and frenulectomy.

Dr. Mandviwala received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. While she was there, she worked as a Behavior Data Specialist and analyzed the behavior on children with Autism and behavioral problems. She also was a Research Assistant at the Adult Cognition Lab where she assisted in designing psychological experiments, was responsible for supervising and training technicians, and collected, interpreted, and reported statistical and qualitative information. Dr. Madviwala completed her Pediatrics Post-Graduate Residency Training at Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center where she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Nursery, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Emergency Department, and on the Pediatric Floor. She managed Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology Nephrology, Hematology/Oncology, Allergy/Immunology, Neurology and Critical Care Pathologies of the neonatal pediatric and adolescent population. Here, she was certified in Lumbar punctures, circumcisions, neonatal intubations, suturing, neonatal/infant/child IV placement & phlebotomy, nasogastric tube placement, bladder and umbilical catheritizations.

Dr. Mandviwala was a Resident Delegate at the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was a volunteer at the Live Light Live Right obesity program, a speaker for Obesity, Cardiovascular Health and Fitness Awareness, and offered service at the walk-in Diabetes clinic. She was a volunteer teacher where she educated children in Islamic Studies. She also volunteered for MedShare International and was a mentor to women in engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is fluent in English, Urdu/Hindi, Gujarati, and moderately fluent in Spanish.
