Charles Anderson, DO

About Dr. Anderson

Dr. Charles Anderson is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician whose career blends frontline clinical expertise with an extensive background in military aviation, aerospace medicine, tactical operations, and wilderness medicine.

Dr. Anderson served as Chief Resident in Emergency Medicine at Kern Medical, where he led residency scheduling, academic development, and interdisciplinary program initiatives. Being the department’s sole resident ATLS instructor and an active contributor to graduate medical education committees, Dr. Anderson was paramount in advancing trauma education and clinical training programs.

A decorated military officer and dual-rated Air Force instructor pilot and flight surgeon, Dr. Anderson holds a distinguished record with the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He serves as Assistant Director of Operations for the 711th Special Operations Squadron, coordinating irregular warfare training, advising partner-nation forces, and executing complex international aviation missions. He is uniquely credentialed as both an instructor pilot and a flight surgeon—the only individual with this dual qualification within Air Force Reserve Command. His contributions span aviation safety investigation, aeromedical evacuation, in-flight emergency response, international security cooperation, and foreign internal defense.

Across nearly two decades of service—as a physician, officer, pilot, emergency responder, and educator—Dr. Anderson has earned numerous honors, including Intern Physician of the Year at Kern Medical, multiple Air Force Company Grade Officer of the Year awards, distinguished graduate honors in military flight training, and the prestigious “SPIRIT 03” Memorial Award.

He remains committed to community and humanitarian service as a volunteer command pilot with Angel Flight and an EMT/firefighter.
