About Dr. D'Assumpcao
Carlos D’Assumpcao, MD is an Infectious Disease Specialist at Kern Medical.
Dr. D’Assumpcao is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. He currently serves as Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and as Associate Program Director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Kern Medical. He is a Health Science Assistant Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, and Associate Medical Director of the Valley Fever Institute.
Dr. D’Assumpcao earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He went on to complete both his Internal Medicine Residency and Infectious Disease Fellowship at Kern Medical, where he continues to serve as a clinician, educator, and mentor.
An active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Infectious Diseases Association of California, Dr. D’Assumpcao is dedicated to enhancing patient care through clinical practice, education, and research. His scholarly contributions include multiple peer-reviewed case reports and active involvement in Valley Fever and other infectious disease research initiatives. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, he has engaged in community outreach and media advocacy to raise public awareness about infectious diseases.
