Cameron Furey, MD

About Dr. Furey

Cameron Furey, MD is a gastroenterologist with advanced fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and advanced endoscopy.

Dr. Furey completed an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center after completing his Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of California, Riverside, where he served as Chief Fellow. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center.

Dr. Furey earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He also completed a post-baccalaureate certificate at Keck Graduate Institute and earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Throughout his medical training, Dr. Furey has been actively involved in clinical research, with published work focused on acute pancreatitis, cirrhosis, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, and other gastrointestinal and hepatologic conditions. His research has been published in journals including Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Clinical Biochemistry, Gastroenterology, and Clinical and Translational Gastroenterology.

Prior to his gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Furey practiced as a hospitalist in Los Angeles, caring for hospitalized patients with a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Furey also has extensive international medical experience, having participated in clinical and service programs in Vietnam, Bolivia, and Ecuador. These experiences included work in hepatology, emergency medicine, family medicine, pediatric care, and rural outpatient settings. He speaks conversational Spanish.

Dr. Furey is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care and brings extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, as well as advanced endoscopic procedures.
