About Dr. Meade

Dr. Peter Meade is a Board Certified General and Critical Care Surgeon at Kern Medical.

Dr. Meade attended University of Notre Dame and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. He then attended medical school at Albany Medical College and completed his medical training as a General Surgery Resident at New York Medical College in New York, New York. Following his medical training, Dr. Meade graduated with a Master’s in Public Health from John Hopkins School of Public Health. He then completed a Fellowship at San Bernardino County Hospital and a Trauma, Critical Care Fellowship at King Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Meade brings many years of experience in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care leadership. He also has a strong interest in serving underserved people, both here and abroad. Over the last 35 years, he has worked in 26 countries with 15 overseas service organizations. In 1999, he was named the Los Angeles Physician Humanitarian of the Year by the California Hospital Medical Foundation. Dr. Meade continues to serve and in 2023, he received the Msgr. Anthony Brouwers Award from the Mission Doctors Association of Los Angeles.

At Kern Medical, Dr. Meade performs General, Trauma, and Acute Care operations in both pediatric and adult patients. He also trains and instructs medical students as they complete their rotations at the hospital.
