Joshua Tseng, MD,MBA

About Dr. Tseng

Dr. Joshua Tseng is a Board-Certified General Surgeon at Kern Medical.

Dr. Tseng attended Keck School of Medicine at USC, completed his general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and stayed on as a minimally invasive surgery fellow at Cedars-Sinai. After fellowship, Dr. Tseng took on a position at Kern Medical as a MIS/bariatric surgeon, where he is building a new, accredited bariatric surgery program. In addition, he is the Director of Surgical Simulation and developed the educational simulation curriculum for medical students, residents and midlevel providers.
 

Dr. Tseng’s clinical interests include minimally invasive approaches to bread-and-butter general surgery, bariatric surgery, and robotic surgery. His clinical research focuses on clinical outcomes and quality improvement in minimally invasive surgery and surgical oncology. Dr. Tseng’s projects are regularly presented in regional and national conferences, and his manuscripts have been published in prestigious journals such as JAMA Medicine.
 

Dr. Tseng is interested in healthcare operations, quality improvement, leadership and management, and data analysis which inspired him to enroll in an MBA program at UNC Kenan-Flagler School of Business. Using these skills, he strives to improve healthcare outcomes and operational efficiency not only in his clinical practice, but throughout the healthcare system and community as well.
