Kern Medical Pediatrics is staffed with 3 Pediatricians, 2 Hospitalists,
2 Physician Assistants, and 3 Nurse Practitioners, along with our sub-specialists
in Nephrology and Gastroenterology who came from UCLA and Valley Children's
in Madera. They provide care to our pediatric patients and newborns in
our inpatient pediatric unit, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and
outpatient pediatric clinic. Our Level II neonatal intensive care unit
is one of the largest in the region with 28 licensed beds. Our Advanced
Practice Providers also care for patients in the Kern County Juvenile
Detentions, Jamison Center, and Crossroads facility.
The Department of Pediatrics pursues its mission providing clinical and
continuity of care to the pediatric population of Kern County and actively
participates in the training of residents from the departments of Family
Practice and Emergency Medicine.
Additional Information
Our Columbus Street pediatric clinics provides extended hours on Tuesdays
and Thursdays up until 7:30PM, and are open Saturdays from 8:30AM to 5PM.
