The Kern Medical Emergency Department is a regional leader in round-the-clock emergency services and is our county’s only Trauma Center.
Our Level II Trauma Center has specialists to treat serious life-threatening injuries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Always available and constantly ready to respond, our Trauma Team can be the difference between life and death for critically ill and injured patients.
As a teaching hospital, the best and brightest medical students compete intensely for one of 24 highly coveted spots in our fully accredited residency program. All 10 of our full-time faculty members are board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
While we stand ready to handle life-threatening situations, our team also recognizes that when you’re in pain – from a broken bone to a stroke – the emergency room is the right place for you.
Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, social workers, respiratory, speech and physical therapists, and other medical professionals. We have the support of and provide consultation to other specialty services including orthopedic surgery; neurosurgery; pediatrics and geriatrics; and vascular, thoracic, oncologic, gynecologic, urologic, plastic, and head and neck surgery
When you or a loved one is in need of immediate medical attention, trust your emergency care to Kern Medical’s Emergency Department.
We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
