Internal Medicine Didactics

The Internal Medicine curriculum is highly academic in structure. The program dedicates at least eight hours a week to regularly scheduled lectures and conferences.

Morning Report (7:30 am-8am, daily)
Run by the Department Chair, Program Director, and at least one other faculty member

Summer Core Lectures (July- October, 12-1pm, Thursdays)
Special core curriculum lectures and clinical training sessions for Interns for approximately three months.

Two critically-appraised articles presented per session

Interactive audio-visual Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program review

Student Education Program (1-2pm, Thursdays)
Lectures given by faculty and interns to students

Kern Medical / UCLA Multidisciplinary Conferences (Noon- 1pm, Thursdays)
Radiology, medicine, surgery and pathology

Annual Einstein Lecture
Formal scientific meeting with a nationally-recognized speaker
Tribute to the late Dr. Hans Einstein (faculty; foremost authority on Coccidioidomycosis)
