Rey Lopez, Chief Information Officer

Rey Lopez, Chief Information Officer, has over 25 year of Healthcare Information Technology experience. He is responsible for the Kern Medical’s Information Technology strategies and operational leadership which includes technology, application, data and service delivery for both ambulatory and acute operations. He has led Kern Medical’s transformation through a complete infrastructure refresh, has worked towards building a security posture to meet the demanding and challenging healthcare environment, leveraged data governance and analytics to expand the data capabilities while improving the organizations use of the Millennium electronic health record. In his previous position with Providence Health & Services, Mr. Lopez was tasked with technology leadership in the Southern California region related to data center implementations, governance, application management, end user development, effective use of collaboration tools, and electronic health records projects.

Mr. Lopez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Systems Analysis from California State University, Northridge. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional in both technical and collaboration tools.

He is also involved in youth athletics and serves in a college mentorship program and leadership advisory for developing businesses. He enjoys traveling with his family, golfing, and camping.
