Scott Capobianco, MD,FACOG

About Dr. Capobianco

Dr. Scott E. Capobianco is a broadly experienced board-certified OB-GYN specialist with a background in electrical and biomedical engineering.

Dr. Capobianco is skilled in robotics, minimally invasive surgery, infertility and high-risk obstetrics. He holds cum laude Bachelor of Science degrees in electrical and biomedical engineering and chose OB-GYN because it offers a blend of science and surgery.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and his medical doctor degree from the USC School of Medicine. He completed his OB-GYN internship and residency at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. He is CEO of Mission OB-GYN Medical Group Inc. in Mission Viejo.

Dr. Capobianco is an associate faculty member at Kern Medical and a clinical assistant professor of OB-GYN at Ross University School of Medicine. He is former chairman of the Women and Infants Department at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center and former OB-GYN Department chairman at Samaritan Medical Center. He was an emergency room EMT and a biochemistry teaching assistant in medical school.

Dr. Capobianco was honored as an Orange County Medical Association Physician of Excellence 2014-16 and was a Dean’s Scholar in medical school. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Capobianco grew up primarily in Laguna Beach but lived in Europe for six years of early childhood. He decided he wanted to be a doctor while working as a lifeguard. He and his wife live in Laguna Beach and have two adult children. He enjoys mountain biking, scuba diving, beach volleyball, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
