Surgery Residency Program
Kern Medical’s General Surgery Residency is a five-year program that graduates two chief residents each June. The program was reviewed by the Residency Review Committee in 2013, and received full accreditation.
While most clinical and didactic education takes place at Kern Medical in Bakersfield, we utilize a number of other hospitals in Bakersfield as well as Children’s Hospital Central California, Community Regional Medical Center (Fresno) and UCLA to provide a complete residency training program.
The program at Kern Medical is free-standing.
This residency program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and all applications are accepted through ERAS ONLY!
