About Dr. Patel

Dr. Sudhir Patel, MD came to work at Kern Medical in 1995 as a Staff Neonatologist. He is now the Director of Neonatology. Prior to Kern Medical, he worked at Community Neonatology of Sacramento Mercy Hospitals as a Staff Neonatologist.

Dr. Patel completed his ‘A’ Levels in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics at Luton Vith Form College in England. He received his Bachelor of Medicine from Southampton University Medical School. Dr. Patel was the Junior House Officer in General Medicine at the University of Leicester Hospitals and the Senior House Officer in Casualty Orthopedics at Saint Margaret’s Hospital, both in England. He went to the University of Utah Primary Childrens Medical Center to complete his residency in General Pediatrics and went on to complete his Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal medicine at UC-Davis.

Dr. Patel holds certification with the American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Pediatrics Subboard of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He is F.L.E.X. certified and certified through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. He has licensure in California, England, and Utah.
