About Dr. Ament

Dr. Marvin Ament, MD is a Kern Medical Family Practice Physician specializing in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Prior to Kern Medical, he was a Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics at University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Ament graduated from Medical School at University of Minnesota Medical School. He finished his Internship in Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Hospitals, and began his residency in Pediatrics at University of Washington Hospitals in Seattle. He then completed his Residency in Pediatrics at UCLA. He went on to complete his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Washington.

Dr. Ament has received many awards and honors, including the Best Doctors in America Award in 1993, 1998, and 2003-2007. He has been a part of the Honorary and Consulting Staff at different Medical Centers and Hospitals such as Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, St. John’s Hospital, and more. He has spent time as a Visiting Professor at different universities and hospitals around the world, including University of Sao Paulo, Shanghai First Medical College, Project Hope – Children’s Hospital in Poland, and University of Washington. He plays a role in many Hospital Committees and National Committees, and plays an active role in a number of societies. Dr. Ament is an avid writer and researcher and has been published numerous times.
