Kota Chandra Shekar, MD
Dr. Kota Chandra Shekar is a board-certified oncologist and hematologist who has also worked as a primary care physician.
Dr. Shekar was educated at Government Junior College in Mancherial, India, and at Osmania Medical College in Hydrabad, where he also completed an internship. He went on to serve as a primary care physician for the Ministry of Iran in Ham, Iran, and in private practice in Mancherial.
In the United States, he served as an extern in cardiology at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, Calif. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Lincoln Hospital while at New York Medical College and his residency in internal medicine at the Fargo, N.D., Veterans Administration Hospital while at the University of North Dakota. He holds a fellowship in oncology and hematology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance.
Dr. Shekar had a private practice in oncology/hematology at Merced Cancer Center.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
