About Dr. Lopez

Dr. Juan Lopez is the Chairman of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kern Medical.

Dr. Lopez received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Saint Mary’s College and his Medical Doctorate Degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his OB/GYN Internship and Residency Program at Kern Medical. He was a Faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2004-2012 before serving as Chairman of the department starting in 2013. He also serves as an attending physician of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Omni Family Community Health Centers.

Dr. Lopez has been awarded Faculty of the Year in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kern Medical two separate years, and was awarded National Faculty of the Year for Excellence in Resident Education by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists in 2013. He was awarded Resident of the Year and Best Resident on three separate occasions and was awarded both Best Teaching Resident and Intern of the Year. Dr. Lopez is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a member of the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
