Joseph Mansour, MD

Dr. Joseph Mansour is a highly experienced board-certified specialist in obstetrics and gynecology and award-winning teaching physician. His special interests include pelvic anatomy and reconstruction, urogynecology, high-risk obstetrics, and vaginal and microinvasive surgery. He has held a number of leadership roles at Kern Medical.
Dr. Mansour received his medical degree after medical school training at the French Faculty of Medicine/University St. Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed a residency at Hotel Dieu De France Hospital in Beirut and OB-GYN residencies at Bondy Hospital in Paris, Kern Medical, and UCLA. He is licensed by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Mansour has served patients in private practice in Lindsay, Bakersfield and Beirut. He has served as a volunteer associate faculty member in Kern Medical’s OB-GYN Residency Program and as a part-time and full-time Kern Medical associate faculty member. In Beirut, his private practice was associated with Lebanese American University.
He was an OB-GYN hospitalist at Sharp Grossmont Hospital and currently is an associate OB-GYN professor at UCSF-Fresno and an OB-GYN hospitalist at Sutter Solano. He also served as Director of Outpatient Services at UCSF-Fresno.
He has served as OB-GYN departmental vice chairman and chairman and as Chief of Staff at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. He was chairman of the Credentials Committee and provided care at Bakersfield Family Medical Center. Dr. Mansour is co-founder of the Columbus Medical Group of Bakersfield and was director of OB-GYN Outpatient Services at Kern Medical.
Dr. Mansour is a lifetime diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Kern County Medical Society, the American Fertility Society, the American Association of Gynecologist Laparoscopists, the California Medical Association and American Professors in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been a member of the Lebanese Order of Physicians since 1997, and is licensed to practice in California and Nevada.
Dr. Mansour’s accolades include multiple National Faculty Awards for Excellence in Teaching from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Council on Resident Education in Ob-GYN. He has three times received the Kern Medical OB-GYN Teacher of the Year award, voted by residents of different specialties.
Dr. Mansour co-authored a chapter on prevention, diagnosis and management of postpartum hemorrhages in the textbook, “Hematological Complications in Obstetrics” (Bick and Baker May 2006) and has provided numerous posters and abstracts for international audiences.
