About Dr. Kalha
Dr. Ishaan Kalha, MD is the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at Kern Medical. Before coming to Kern Medical in 2008, he was an attending Gastroenterologist with the Advanced Gastroenterology Medical Associates. In addition, he was appointed Clinical Instructor of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 2006.
Dr. Kalha attended medical school at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. During the time he was attending medical school, he worked as a House Physician and House officer at a variety of hospitals around the United Kingdom. He completed his residency at Kern Medical in 2001 and his Fellowship in Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the University of Texas – Houston in 2–4/
Dr. Kalha has licensure in California and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterlogy, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has received numerous honors and special awards including the Sterling Fellow Award for Excellence in Gastoenterology, Chief Medical Resident for Internal Medicine, Chairman Award for Service to Internal Medicine, and others.
