Dr. Shah moved to the USA after medical schooling to pursue post graduation. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Loma Linda University, CA and a Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at University of Florida, Jacksonville. He also served as a Quality Improvement Chief resident at VA hospital, Loma Linda.
He has contributed to a wide range of publications and participated in many research projects. His monograph for Thyroid Function testing was published in BMJ Point of Care. He presented multiple abstracts at various regional and national meetings, including winning a clinical vignette competition at ACP.
He continues to practice, lecture and teach as a Consultant Endocrinologist and Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA-Kern Medical.
He is a Diplomate of The American Board of Internal Medicine (DABIM) with Dual Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr. Shah has been awarded the Fellowship of The American College of Physicians (FACP).
He is a member of American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist, The Endocrine Society, The American Thyroid Association and International Society of Clinical Densitometry.
He manages Diabetes, Thyroid, Adrenal, Pituitary, Bone and Male Reproductive disorders but his clinical areas of interests are Thyroid Cancer, Osteoporosis and Type 1 Diabetes. He has expertise in Insulin pumps and Thyroid Biopsies. His wife works as a Physical Therapist Assistant and they have made Bakersfield their home.
