Dr. Drew Cassidenti, director of Kern Medical’s Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Division, is the specialty’s only three-year fellowship-trained and board-certified surgeon in Bakersfield.
He treats women with a range of pelvic health issues, often highly complex and the result of surgical complications, and is skilled in advancing therapy options that result in improved quality of life.
Dr. Cassidenti received his Bachelor of Science degree as biochemistry valedictorian from UCLA and his medical doctor degree from the UCLA School of Medicine, where he was class president. He completed his OB-GYN internship and residency at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center. He went on to complete his fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He holds a Certificate in Leadership for Healthcare Transformation from the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business.
He is an OB-GYN clinical professor at the USC School of Medicine and has taught at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. He is president and CEO of Cassidenti & Associates Healthcare Systems and Biotechnology in Laguna Niguel and CEO of South County OB-GYN Inc. in Laguna Hills.
He is director of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Doctors of Women Health Care Inc., Irvine; Women’s Healthcare Physicians, Orange; and Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, Orange. He also sees patients at the Armistad Free Clinic in Orange.
Dr. Cassidenti is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, Society of Urodynamics and Female Urology, American Urogynecologic Society, Association of Advanced Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the International Urogynecology Association.
He has given numerous presentations before national and international audiences on a broad range of topics related to his specialty and is actively engaged in research.
Dr. Cassidenti’s wife, Denise Cassidenti, MD, is an infertility specialist. They have two daughters, and he enjoys golfing and biking.
